Brian Hamilton learned to fly through a military flying scholarship .
He has accumulated many thousands of hours experience on numerous types including the King Air 350 and 200. He is a highly experienced instructor and examiner based in the south of England, focusing primarily on CAA and FAA individual instruction, personal pilot support (safety pilot) and examining.
Brian’s qualifications include: UK CAA ATPL, class rating examiner, PPL flight examiner, QFI, CAA airworthiness test pilot, FAA ATP, CFI, CFI instrument and multi-engine instructor. He is a particularly experienced multi-engine pilot. He is Head of Training for AOPA UK, responsible for delivering AOPA’s 2 day seminars for UK flight instructor licence revalidations and renewals.
He has flown extensively throughout the US, including the North Atlantic ferry flight crossing several times, completed again on his return to UK from USA in his Beech Duchess.
He has also completed a round the world flight earlier in a TBM 700. He is well placed to advise on FAA/CAA alignment and can give most associated check-rides. Brian fully understands the adjustments required for the UK pilot, not only to qualify, but to feel comfortable flying in US airspace
He can equally advise US trained pilots on transition to UK and European airspace, regulatory authorities and special requirements.
Brian focuses on professional, personal, one-to-one pilot support, whether it be examining, instructing or acting as a safety pilot particularly with complex aircraft – always underpinned by sound airmanship principles.
