Monday 8 Mar Fairoaks (London) to Ajjacio (Corsica) Delayed departure by 4 hours at Fairoaks due to a flat battery! Glad to be on our way with good weather and tailwinds. Quick turn-round at Ajjacio for fuel by basic but efficient ground services for night flight to Crete. Ajjacio to Iraklion (Crete) Fast flight (3 hrs) followed by instrument approach in poor visibility. Not only is Brian an extremly nice guy, he is a first class flying instructor and examiner. In my experience, his unrushed no stress approach to pilot training and assessment is thorough, precise and methodical with emphasis on safety. I have utilised Brian's services as a fixed wing multi-engine examiner for licence re-validation, and more recently as a safety pilot to ensure my Beech Duchess was landed without embarrassment on a farm strip. My IMC renewal is due next so without doubt, I hope Brian will be able to conduct the test.

Brian Hamilton, Is an amazing source of aeronautical knowledge and has experience in almost every type of aircraft and situation to be encountered whilst flying. His considerate and professional manner is equally at home giving tuition to beginners or training and examining professional and commercial pilots. I first met Brian when upgrading from single to multi engine aircraft; he helped me with the purchase and ferrying the aircraft back from Greece, and all the subsequent training and ratings necessary to fly the aircraft to its full potential safely within my capabilities. I only had a...
